As well as being a leading commercial mediator, I work as a
Facilitator: Resolving crises and keeping them out of the public eye.
This constitutes 50% of my practice, reconfiguring business, boardroom & key customer relationships.
Multi-party/multi-day/multi-interest facilitations include:
For the British, Irish & Welsh governments, including high-level, industry-wide Film & TV negotiations
Inside Businesses at board level, and with shareholders. Defusing volatile situations, getting relationships back on track & preventing problems escalating into litigation
Family Business & Trust & Probate cases issues (e.g. succession), working with founders & family members, a subject I cover in STEP’s ‘Business Families & Family Businesses’ Handbook
Partnership & financial arrangements including for law firms
Property disputes with local authorities/developers/residents groups
Chairing working groups, including for Industry Competitors, Oil Industry Manufacturers & Suppliers, and for Not for Profit trustees.
My facilitation work often involves working closely with lawyers & specialist advisers, and designing the right process, built around people’s needs and idiosyncrasies to ensure sensitive issues and imbalances are safely addressed and everyone feels heard
